KOMMANDO XY - Welcome To Gestrikland

Gestrikland heißt die Region in Ostschweden, in der die beiden Mitglieder von KOMMANDO XY leben und aus der sie Ihre musikalische Inspiration schöpfen.

Wer jetzt hier aber veträumte Folk-Musik erwartet, der sei mit "Welcome to Gestrikland" eines besseren belehrt. Harter Oldschool-EBM, programmiert von Gustav Jansson (Mitglied von STURM CAFÉ), und die markante grölende Stimme von Sänger Joke Mohlund lassen keinen Zweifel daran aufkommen, dass der schwedische EBM wieder auf dem Vormarsch ist! Rücksichtslos, kompromisslos, elektronisch!

Gestrikland

Gestrikland (old spelling) or Gästrikland (new spelling)is a tiny province or "landscape" in Sweden where Gävle is the capital city. This is our tribute to the land that have given us (and you) iron, steel and tree as well as Sandvik, Gevalia Coffe, Mackmyra Whiskey and legendary hockeyplayers.

Genesis does (What Nintendon't)

This is our tribut to the videogame that we in Europe would call "Sega Megadrive" but americans call "Genesis". The phrase "Genesis does what Nintendon't" comes from a 80's pro-Sega/anti-Nintendo tv-commercial.

"Why?", the songs is about how tiresome it is to hear peoples lies and bullshit.

"Wolf winter" is a swedish expression of a really cold winter, the winter where lifes are taking by the cold and the beer and food are running out.

"Women" is a ironic song about how women must be home to take care of the children and the dishes while men are out and drinking beer and just having fun. And how women are pumped with beauty ideals while men can have beer bellys without care about it.

"Park party" is about having a party, listen to EBM, barbeque and drinking beer in our central city park "Boulogner" in Gävle.

"Moose hunt" is about hunting mooses in the forest wich is very common in Gästrikland.
 
Brynäs IF

Brynäs IF is Gävle's hockey team in highest swedish hockey division SEL (Swedish Elite League) this song is our hymn to that team! A team that have created many world players that later have going overseas to america and NHL.
 
Vargen

"The Wolf" is about vikings that are going out to battle and making raids.
